SIRSY (7:00 pm)
Indie Pop Rock duo, SIRSY, makes music chock full of soul and sincerity with just the right amount of sass. With hook-drenched, resonating melodies and clever, honest lyrics, their songs run the gamut from wildly joyful to utterly heartbreaking. SIRSY is comprised of guitarist Rich Libutti, a lover of The Beatles and Bowie, and singer/drummer Melanie Krahmer, who’s sultry and powerful voice sounds like the love child of Eartha Kitt and Superman. Reviewers say, “Melanie Krahmer has a stunning, inimitable, voice capable of a lion's roar and a floaty whisper, with the lungs of a teenage athlete". She also plays a full drum kit while standing up, handles bass (played on a keyboard with her drumstick), and even throws in an occasional flute solo. Rich Libutti plays everything else, including bass (on a keyboard at his feet); and is the anchor to Melanie's on stage tornado. Together, the two create a dynamic, full sound which makes listeners swear there are more than two musicians on stage. With a relentless tour schedule, SIRSY plays over 200 shows a year along the east coast and mid-west. They've shared stages with Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Maroon5, Train, RaRaRiot, Boys Like Girls, Third Eye Blind, Life House, Blues Traveler, Cheap Trick, and many more. SIRSY’s latest release, “Coming Into Frame”, just dropped this spring, and the duo is mounting a nationwide tour in support of the album. Mel and Rich are stepping out of their east coast/mid-west comfort zone and will be performing in the south and on the west coast for this tour.
