Shiu-Kai Chin, who focuses on security assured by design,is a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Syracuse University. He is Co-Director of SU’s Center for Information and Systems Assurance and Trust and is affiliated with the Institute for National Security and Counterterrorism. He also is an instructor in the Air Force Research Laboratory’s Advanced Course in Engineering Cybersecurity Boot Camp, a 10-week summer program that develops the next generation of cyber leaders. His research, Certified Security by Design, applies mathematical logic to the engineering of trustworthy systems. He is co-author of the textbook “Access Control, Security and Trust: A Logical Approach.”
