A nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to preserving the history of Skaneateles, the Skaneateles Historical Society conducts and encourages historical research and collects, preserves, and exhibits historical material in connection with the Town and Village. If there is a record of a newspaper announcement in our database file that you would like to see, please write to us and provide a stamped self addressed return envelope. A suggested donation of $5 for services and copies will be appreciated.
The Town Historian is Beth Batlle, c/o the Town Hall, 24 Jordan St, Skaneateles, NY 13152. The Village Historian is Pat Blackler, 28 Hannum St, Skaneateles, NY 13152. Please contact only one of the above Historians.
The Creamery Building houses many Skaneateles artifacts as well as the brand new boat museum. The Creamery is open to the public on Fridays from 1-4 pm, as well as Saturdays and Sundays from 1-4 pm during Dickens Christmas from Thanksgiving to Christmas.
